thalaivar on jaya.....

Finally Rajnikanth sang hosannas to Chief Minister Jayalalithaa at the Thanksgiving function organised by the Tamil film industry at Nehru Stadium in Chennai on Monday (November 8) evening. Said Rajni: "Hats off to Jayalalithaa madam for curbing video piracy, something which was unthinkable a few weeks back".
Rajni in his speech referred to her as JJ madam and made it clear that he was initially reluctant in attending this function when the organisers invited him. But later, on second thoughts he realized that she has given Tamil film industry a new lease of life and he does not deserve to be an artist if he abstains from attending this thanksgiving function.
Recalling the first time he had met JJ while he was a student at the Adyar Film institute, where she had come to HMV studio for a recording, he said: "She had a magnetic presence even at that time" as he even mentioned about the colour of her sari and blouse that she had worn at that time! Rajni praised her immense courage and will-power to withstand all hurdles in life under tremendous pressure.
About putting an end to Veerapan, he said that JJ had raised the image of our country abroad and has made all Tamilians proud. Rajni added:
"I know Veerappan more than any one and putting an end to that menace is just not an achievement but is history". The AIADMK cadres who attended the function clapped and constantly encouraged the superstar for making such statements.
In her acceptance speech Jayalalithaa did not fail to mention a special thanks to her "brother Rajnikanth" for attending the function.
Will the November 8th thanksgiving create a new political realignment in the state?
